Testimonials

"Ms. Sprung has been at (this school) for three years and within this time she has not only made me want to join dance inside and outside of school but has taught me how to become a better dancer -- and I know this to be true for many other students as well. When I was a sixth grader, from the second that she first taught me a dance in the musical, I knew that I wanted to be a dancer. She creates a welcoming and caring environment for anyone who wants to be in dance. Mrs. Sprung is also always there for people who need someone to talk to and will listen and help. In the musical when she is teaching, she takes her time and helps the people who may not be dancers outside of school... She is not only a spectacular and inspiring dance teacher but an amazing person too."

August - Intermediate Student

"I’ve only known Ms. Sprung for this year, but I’ve already gotten to see why people love her and have spoken so kindly of her. She is a very caring, gentle, and passionate dance teacher, always aiming to make sure her students are okay, as well as the dances on point lol. She has always been very supportive and kind towards her students, and she has made me feel at home in her class."

Lily - Beginner Student

"Ms. Sprung deeply cares about her students as well as the teacher community. Her performances are beautiful and hinge on where middle schoolers interests and struggles are at. She is an amazing dance instructor."
"Both my daughters have had the wonderful experience of participating in Ms. Sprung’s CI dance class and musical production. They have both deeply enjoyed her style and approach to dancing"

My Offerings

School Teaching

I've taught, and co-taught, in many diverse public school settings as well as studio settings (see "About" for more info). I've taught dance to students of all demographics from excelled/gifted and talented, to Special Ed, to ESL learners. The dance curriculum I teach in schools tends to incorporate technique of various genres, choreography/performance, improvisation, group/partner collaboration, verbal and written feedback towards peers, self reflection, anatomy & physiology for dancers, and health & wellness.

Beginner-Advanced Workshops

I offer workshops that vary from beginner to intermediate/advanced level dancers. These are great for students looking to further develop their skills, technique, and work on intricate choreographies to refine their dance style and expand their dance knowledge/vocabulary.

Private Sessions

I offer private and duet/small group sessions to students looking to have instruction more individualized and specific one's needs, whether it's to improve technique and skills, or prepare for a performance.

Performance

I still perform in video visuals, showcases, and concert-based performances in various dance genres. I have also performed for smaller events, and can do anything in between!

Choreography

I choreograph pieces in styles ranging from ballet, contemporary/lyrical, modern, jazz, hip hop, and commercial styles, and anything from solo, duet, trio to group pieces. Whether it's for video, audition, showcase or concert, or even a wedding dance, it'll be stunning and spectacular!

Somatic Methods

I'm certified in Vinyasa Yoga teaching, Pilates Mat & Reformer, and Group Fitness. I've always been interested in somatic methods and how much they not only intertwine with dance and artistic movement, but how much it can strength and enhance a dancer's artistry and skill. I give private sessions in these methods, as well as incorporate them into my dance teaching.
